The Department of Theory and Methods of Physical Education consists of 5 Candidates of Sciences, Associate Professors, Honored Worker of Physical Culture and Sports of Ukraine, who provide teaching of educational components of the cycle of professional and practical training of specialists in the specialty 014 Secondary Education (Physical Education) at the first (bachelor's) and second (master's) levels of higher education.

The scientific and pedagogical staff of the department work in the context of the collective theme of research work: "Ways to optimize the professional training of specialists in physical education and sports".

In recent years, the teachers of the Department have published more than 170 scientific articles, including 43 in professional journals of Ukraine, 4 in foreign scientific journals, 5 teaching aids, including "The Book of a Young Physical Education Teacher", "Methods of Teaching Sports and Pedagogical Disciplines in Higher Education Institutions of Physical Education and Sports".

Scientific and pedagogical staff of the Department M. V. Bozhyk and T. V. Kucher completed a foreign internship at the Vincent Paul Higher School of Social Sciences and Natural Sciences in Lublin (Poland); Antoniuk, Kedrych, Dovgal completed coaching courses under the "C" program - FFU diploma in regional coaching centers, which gives the right to work as a coach at all levels of amateur and youth football not only in Ukraine but also in UEFA member countries.

According to the schedule of the educational process, the department organizes winter camps on the basis of the Kremenets branch of the regional sports school of winter sports. During the summer camp, hiking trips in the Kremenets Mountains and water tourism in the Dniester Canyon are organized, which involves the acquisition of practical skills in tourist equipment, development, organization, preparation and conduct of a sports trip with people of different ages and different levels of physical fitness.

The department has groups of sports and pedagogical improvement in football, basketball, volleyball, athletics, tourism, and athletics.

The center of training, sports and recreational work is the Academy's sports base, which includes a number of indoor facilities, a stadium, and outdoor sports grounds.

In recent years, scientific and methodological interdistrict seminars have been held with physical education teachers and coaches of children and youth sports schools ("Modern trends in volleyball: technique, tactics, refereeing training", "Rules and techniques of basketball in general secondary education institutions", "Organization and conduct of football competitions", "Activities of amateur tourist organizations").

The department became the founder of public organizations: the charitable foundation "Sports Center for Child Development" (physical education and recreation classes for children of preschool and primary school age with elements of sports games and gymnastics) and the "Volleyball Federation of Kremenets and Kremenets District" (holding complex and multi-stage volleyball competitions, promoting children's and mass volleyball).

Tournaments were held in memory of the hero of the Maidan and the Heavenly Hundred Oleksandr Kapinos; teacher of Pochayiv school Petro Tsyhanyuk; the Futsal Cup in memory of Afghan soldiers among the youth sports schools of the Western region of Ukraine; and an interregional futsal tournament among girls.

Among the sporting achievements of the students and graduates of the department are: members of the Ukrainian national team in Nordic combined: O. Vilivchuk, O. Shumbarets, V. Hrebenyuk, I. Pylypchyk; member of the youth national team of Ukraine in luge S. Danik; master of sports in boxing A. Sokolov, candidates for master of sports in tourism L. Lanovetska, D. Bezkorovainyi, I. Hatz, M. Tokarska; Honored Master of Sports of Ukraine, Honored Coach of Ukraine, judge of the national category in armwrestling, multiple world and European armwrestling champion A. Pushkar; member of the student national football team of Ukraine A. Ponedelnik; international master of sports of Ukraine in weightlifting, winner of the European Championship M. Khlyan; winner of the WTKA World Kickboxing Championship in Italy in 2018. Master of Sports of International Class in kickboxing A. Holub.

Graduates of the specialty work in all parts of the physical culture movement, in various sports and fitness organizations and associations of a new model (fitness clubs, health centers), in public organizations, youth associations, voluntary societies, mass sports federations, educational and tourism institutions.
