The article determines that Jagiellonianism, as a historical and cultural phenomenon, was crucial for the development of Slavic cultures and politics in medieval Europe. The traditions of Jagiellonianism, uniting Catholics and Orthodox in the Kingdom of Lithuania and Poland, contributed to the cultural and national self-affirmation of the Slavs, including Ukrainians. Thanks to Jagiellonianism, Orthodox fraternal schools developed in Lviv, and cultural and educational contacts contributed to the preservation of the Slavic heritage and countering external threats. It is noted that in Ukraine, Jagiellonianism is characterized by the era of Cossack liberties and high education, and in Poland - by the preservation of Old Catholic traditions in Krakow.
Keywords: Jagiellonianism, Catholic Poles, Orthodox Rusyns, Poland, Ukraine.
