Svitlana Ostrova, teacher of the organ class at the Oleksandr Zyuzkin Velyka Oleksandrivka School of Arts and Crafts, Honored Artist of Ukraine, composer, member of the National Union of Composers of Ukraine, concert organist, artist of the P. Anthology of Ukrainian organs in author's projects
The article presents historiographical data on the origin of the first organs in Kievan Rus. It is noted that the first documentary references to organs in Western Ukraine date back to the early fifteenth century. It is noted that today the organ composing school is represented by a new and small creative work of Ukrainian artists, which includes original author's opuses, arrangements and arrangements. It is proved that in 1970 A. Kotliarevskyi opened a student organ class at the P. Tchaikovsky Kyiv State Conservatory. At the same time, student organ classes appeared in other cities of Ukraine.
The tasks and goals of two of S. Ostrova's projects, in particular, "Anthology of Ukrainian Organs" and "Sounding Organs of Western Ukraine" are characterized. The "Festival of Ukrainian Organ Music" held in the fall of 2020 is described. The leading performers on the organ and their repertoire are listed.
